Aristos Philis is this year’s winner of the YoungShip Cyprus Young Leader Award 2021, which is sponsored by WISTA Cyprus. We congratulate Aristos and wish him every success in his future ventures with KeelX. Aristos’ request is that the monetary award be donated to charity.

During the Award Ceremony Mr. Aristos Philis stated:

I am honored and humbled to receive the YoungShip Cyprus Leader Award 2021. It gives me joy to see that our collective efforts toward a sustainable and more diverse maritime industry are not overlooked. If any part of my 2021 work was award-worthy, it’s certainly attributed to the achievements of the entire Lemissoler Navigation Co Ltd and KeelX team, especially throughout these frenzied and ultra-challenging times amid a pandemic.
Motivated by the Decade of Action, we kicked off 2021 by accelerating all KeelX projects in delivering sustainable solutions to some of the most prominent maritime technology challenges. Like KeelX we are happy to witness several other tech initiatives launched globally.  They share sound values and have their missions focused on making the maritime transportation system better. The pandemic transformed the way maritime companies leverage technology to perform day-to-day tasks but also turbocharged the pace technology was reshaping work-life balance. It triggered a redefinition of employer-employee relationships. Companies realize that ramping up their diversity, equity, and inclusion, while good for society, can also be great for business. There is much to be done, however, our industry is taking steps towards a more inclusive, diverse, and greener future. It all looks quite promising for the incoming generations.
